Seth & Dr. Manhattan

I recently saw the “Watchmen” and I kept thinking about Seth every time I saw Dr. Manhattan…
Don’t you think they look alike?
Dr. Manhattan from the Watchman
Seth from SF4!
Honestly they could be brothers!
Personally I really think the film was very accurate to the comic. I think each character was portrayed and cast very well. However this movie was definitely made for the fans and someone without any knowledge of the comic might be a little confused. What did you think?

I thought the movie sucked. I have no idea how the comic was, but the movie had little to no action, mostly plot building, and a retarded plot at that. And they showed Dr. Manhattan’s dick WAY too many times.
only you would notice Dr.Manhattan’s balls…. i thought it was decent but yea def NO action at all.
Yep, there’s quite a resemblance there. Perhaps, Seth from S4 was based off of Dr. Manhattan. But Dr. Manhattan was based off of Captain Atom!
And you know who else kinda looks like both these blue guys? Iceman from the X-men: http://www.emmafrostfiles.com/images/Iceman.jpg
Anyways, Watchmen had a lot of action – it was just dispersed throughout an almost 3 hour movie. You’re right the movie was made for fans. People who haven’t read the graphic novel will not understand the movie.
“Watchmen” as a graphic novel did great things to the comic book industry. It gave writers the inspiration to write about more morally ambiguous characters and psychologically explore what a man/woman with such power would actually be like.
Of course, so many stories about the morally grey have appeared all throughout the media, so reading/watching Watchmen in the 2000s is of not much significance.
Nevertheless, “Watchmen” still contains a highly complex plot with fun characters to poke around with.
I’m glad Zack Snyder included Dr. Manhattan’s blue penis (LOL!) in the movie. I mean, in the comics, Dave Gibbons wanted to show Dr. Manhattan fully naked, but he drew it so that it wasn’t the first thing you saw when you flipped the page.
Basically, it meant they wanted Watchmen to be as realistic as possible. A man who feels no need to use clothes because he’s lost his humanity isn’t going to wear clothes.
For Watchmen, there’s a meaning behind everything.
Whats up AIMEE, didn’t see your comment there
we just redesigned the site and we are still working out out some kinks.
Yes I definitely think Seth has a loose connection with Dr. Manhattan. Now that you mention it, Ice Man does kinda look similar! Triplets!! Btw is Emma Frost your site? Its pretty cool!
Yea Watchmen is definitely not for the general public. I still have mixed opinions about the movie…but overall I definitely think it was a bold statement and really followed the comics.
btw I thought the Comedian really looked like Robert Downy Jr!
Seriously though, I did a double take when they flashed his slong on the big screen! Didn’t think they had the “balls†to do it. =D
Yeah! The site’s layout is AWESOME, I must say. I found this through Matt Brett. I don’t really know him, but I follow his blog and stuff. He makes such wicked cool layouts, so it’s always a pleasure to the eye anytime I’m at a site that he designed.
And yup, the Emma site is mine. Have you heard of her before? She’s an X-Men character…don’t know if you read comics or not. But yeah, she’s an AWESOME character so you should probably check her out. Plus, she’s sexy, and that’s always a plus.
And I guess Snyder showing Dr. Manhattan’s super huge slong meant that he REALLY wanted to stay close to the comics.
Well… to be fair… the only requirements to look like Dr. Manhattan are to be blue and bald. I don’t think Seth qualifies as a ripoff. Just a very boring guy who happens to look like another boring guy.
you forgot, “naked”. So basically, Blue, bald and naked….
