Damn my 360 died this weekend… and its out of warranty. What should I do?

Looks like my PS3 is going to see more playing time.

Dammit! I’m sorry to hear that. But at least the holidays are coming up, so both Amazon and Wal-Mart have good Xbox 360 deals on their websites. Go for the elite, possibly?

1.that sucks i got that a while ago but i unplugged everything and removed the hard drive and it worked

the reason i gave up my 360 for my ps3.
I’m sorry man. Now you can join the club. I got one section of the red ring in September of last year, sent it back and they fixed it. Then, in January, I got the full red ring, but it was after the warranty expired. I got my bonus from work right around then so i bought a new one. I was so pissed.
It’s good to have a back up system though. I had to send my ps3 back last summer becuase it wasn’t playing ps2 games (i got the 60 gig when they were getting rid of the brand) and just 2 weeks ago my ps3 hard drive failed and i had to replace that too. And i take really good care of my systems too, but i keep getting the cosmic screw. Other people have dirt, dust and other crap all over their systems and nothing happens

@musashi, yes my ps3 is getting much more play time now.
@voryth, yea I keep my systems in prime condition too and I actually DONT play THAT much…strange. I found this place thats local that says they can fix it for $30… sounds sketch but im gonna check it out.
most people that i know that have gotten the RRoD usually happens in about 2 years and i think my time is comming

2yrs old? thats still under the rrod warranty, which is 3 yrs.

this sucks, my PS3 is loving all the time i’m spend on it though.
search youtube on the ways ppl “fix” a rrod xbox, it ranges from overheating it so much the thermal paste respreads itself out, to just replacing the thermal paste in it.
if its out of warranty, lemme get a day w/ it, I might be able to get it working again
then again gamestop got used xbox for $140, i was tempted to pick one up but w/ all the banned xbox’s lately, decided against it till I find out what their exchange policy is like
