Ready to turn a 360 from your Xbox 360? (Sorry, I couldn’t help it). If the rumors are true–and when have gaming rumors ever let us down?–the next Xbox, dubbed the 720 by the Internet, should be gracing our homes in the Fall of 2013 according to IGN and Fudzilla.

The Xbox 720 will reportedly be six times more powerful than the Xbox 360 (Xbox 2160?) and feature a processor based on the Radeon 600 series.

Am I the only one disappointed by the prospect of playing on a 2013 gaming system that has the graphical power of a 2011 gaming card?

So what’s on your wishlist of next-gen gaming features? Backwards compatibility? Touch screen controllers? Virtual reality goggles and gloves? Share your thoughts below.

Seven epic games. We’re ready to drop seven new cross-platform, DRM-free games down your digital chimney. Bandage your fingertips and prepare your mind for the challenges of Super Meat Boy, Shank, Jamestown, Bit.Trip Runner, and NightSky. If you pay more than the average price, you’ll also get two massive, well-loved indie favorites: Cave Story+ and Gratuitous Space Battles.

Pay what you want. If you bought these games separately, it would cost around $100, but we are letting you set the price.

The games work great on Mac, Windows, and Linux (system requirements here). Please note that this is the initial release of seven Linux builds, so please be patient while we fix 1.0 issues as fast as we can.

You can support charity. Choose exactly how your purchase is divided: between the developers, the Child’s Play Charity, or the American Red Cross. Also, if you like this deal, a tip to Humble Bundle would be much appreciated!

"My house is right there. See it? Next to the blacksmith."

As engrossing as Skyrim is, many of my fellow gamers have encountered bugs. Big deal, right? Bethesda’s games ALWAYS have bugs. They’re like little Easter Eggs of masochism.

Thankfully, however, Bethesda is patching up the game to fix some of the more annoying, game breaking and uglifying ones. Skyrim Patch 1.2 details were recently released on the Bethesda Blog:

UPDATE 1.2 NOTES (all platforms unless specified)

Improved occasional performance issues resulting from long term play (PlayStation 3)

Fixed issue where textures would not properly upgrade when installed to drive (Xbox 360)

Fixed crash on startup when audio is set to sample rate other than 44100Hz (PC)

Fixed issue where projectiles did not properly fade away

Fixed occasional issue where a guest would arrive to the player’s wedding dead

Dragon corpses now clean up properly

Fixed rare issue where dragons would not attack

Fixed rare NPC sleeping animation bug

Fixed rare issue with dead corpses being cleared up prematurely

Skeleton Key will now work properly if player has no lockpicks in their inventory

Fixed rare issue with renaming enchanted weapons and armor

Fixed rare issue with dragons not properly giving souls after death

ESC button can now be used to exit menus (PC)

Fixed occasional mouse sensitivity issues (PC)

General functionality fixes related to remapping buttons and controls (PC)

Bethesda also mentioned that it would continue listening to gamers on forums, blogs, and other venues to improve the game’s performance.

So let your voice be heard if you notice a mammoth falling from the sky! (And no, it wasn’t the imaginary result of a 17 hour play session . . . )

Has anyone beaten Skyrim yet? Is there even an “end” to this fantastic game?

While Bethesda works hard to address some of the initial bugs in The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, gamers have already compiled a list of tweaks to help Skyrim run smoother.

Much thanks goes to PCGamer for compiling this list of Skyrim tweaks and fixes from around the web.

Disable mouse smoothing
Go to your Steam Directory, then steamapps, common, skyrim and select Skyrim again. Create a backup of the SkyrimPrefs.ini file. Open the file, then scroll down to where it says [Controls] and find bMouseAcceleration=1. Change to bMouseAcceleration=0. Save, exit, and play This fix and the two below are from Skyrim Reddit, and are credited to “Dead man posting” on the Something Awful Forums.

Change field of view
Head to My Documents, select My Games, select Skyrim and then Skyrim again, then create a backup of the skyrim.ini file. Scroll down to [General] in the file and add fdefaultfov=XX (where XX is the field of view you want). Then save and exit.

Fix common crash to desktop problem
Access the Sound menu from the Control panel. In the playback tab, right click on speakers and select properties. Select the advanced tab on the new screen and select 24 bit, 44100Hz (Studio Quality) from the drop down menu. This fixed crashes for Owen last night.

Disable Vsync
Access the SkyrimPrefs.ini again and add iPresentInterval=0 to the bottom of the [Display] section. This can improve a sluggish framerate and eliminate instances of mouse lag. Thanks to Tweak Guides for this one.

Graphical tweaks
Curate on the Bethesda forums has highlighted a number of interesting variables in the SkyrimPrefs.ini file. Change the digit at the end of each line to 1 to turn the feature on, 0 to turn it off. Don’t forget to create a backup of the SkyrimPrefs.ini file just in case.

Interesting variables are as follows, in order of appearance in the .ini and showing their default settings.
bDoDepthOfField=1
bTreesReceiveShadows=0
bDrawLandShadows=0
bShowFloatingQuestMarkers=1
bShowQuestMarkers=1
bShowCompass=1
bMouseAcceleration=1
fAutosaveEveryXMins=15.0000

Redditor Ryz also suggests changing iWaterReflectHeight=512 and iWaterReflectWidth=512 to 1024 and adding the following text to the SkyrimPrefs.ini to improve the quality of water reflections.

bUseWaterReflectionBlur=1
bReflectExplosions=1
iWaterBlurAmount=4
bAutoWaterSilhouetteReflections=0
bForceHighDetailReflections=1

It’s hard to put Skyrim’s ambition and grandiosity into words. With all the absolute goodness Bethesda has put into their latest game, it’s only natural that there’d be glitches left in the final product.

Well, Bethesda is asking for our patience in fixing some of the problems gamers are having with the game. According to GameInformer, Peter Hines of Bethesda has been communicating with gamers over Twitter, assuring them that they are working on ironing out problems such as the Xbox 360 texture issue.

“We will fix as much as we can for your platform,” Hines added. “I don’t know if it will fix ‘your’ bug. Takes a while to test/fix/regress. Hang in there.”

I’ve poured in quite a few hours into Skyrim since it was released, and the only glitch I’ve run across was a wooly mammoth falling from the sky. Skyrim is by far the most polished Bethesda game to come out yet (Anyone remember the game breaking bugs in Knights of the Old Republic? Yeah . . . ).

Share your Skyrim glitches and bugs below.

Mass Effect is as much an investment as it is a game series. Each game is interdependent on the others: what you did in Mass Effect 1 and 2 will have an effect on Mass Effect 3.

So fans of the series are understandably curious about how Mass Effect 3′s multiplayer will tie into their investment. Thankfully, the social media coordinator at Bioware recently interviewed producer Jesse Houston about the game’s multiplayer.

Head on over to the Bioware Blog for the full interview.

Below are some new and interesting tidbits about multiplayer:

You won’t be able to host games on a private server

You won’t be able to host a local lan co-op game

Bioware is working on a sytem to deal with disruptive team members (kicking?)

DLC will include new characters to play as in multiplayer

The single player campaign will follow a different story from the co-op campaign

What do you think of the multiplayer for ME3 so far?

We’re all eager to find out more about GTA 5 since the debut trailer. Fans of the series are snapping at any tidbit they can get like rabid dogs.

Now, however, it seems like some very interesting and potentially true rumors have surfaced on the GTA forums. A QA tester named OpenSurvivor created a post with several details including safehouse details, the approximate size of the game world, and a few details about the story.

GamePro notes that the post was deleted quickly by Rockstar moderators, but come on, ANYONE who read it copied the rumors down verbatim to spread amongst the Internet’s masses.

"Will work for GTA 5 secrets . . . "

In keeping with that tradition, here are those rumors for your viewing pleasure!

NOTE: While these are rumors, they may potentially be true. Therefore, beware of SPOILERS!

Los Santos is the only major city in the game. However, this doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot to explore; Los Santos is ~50% larger than Liberty City, with a handful of smaller cities and towns beyond the countryside. One of the larger non-LS cities is based on San Bernardino, another is Tucson, both are about the size of Alderney.

There are at least two cities apart from Los Santos which are the size of Alderney; They do not share a border with Los Santos or each other.

The city of Los Santos alone is larger than GTA IV combined. Los Santos is the largest and most important city. Unlike San Andreas, players will not be moving from one city to the next, doing missions restricted to that specific location. They will be structured in a way that’s unlike what has been done in any previous Grand Theft Auto game.

There are 5 counties in the game, with Los Santos being the largest of them all. Overall, Los Santos is 1/3 of the entire map, with the map being over twice the size of RDR; This can be compared to New Austin and Neuvo Paraiso being one huge city, paved end to end.

Los Santos alone will feature three airports (more are outside of the city), with the world itself being more than twice the size of RDR.

Every plane shown in the trailer (excluding the commercial passenger jets) is pilotable. No big planes (ex. AT-400) will be present.

NPC Passenger jets fly higher than the vertical limit of planes piloted by the player.

The world is definitely not going to be too small for people’s tastes; Expect to see snow, deserts, and much more.

The mountain ranges extend above the maximum altitude for player-controlled planes, therefore making it impossible to fly over them.

Mountain ranges cannot be passed, however they can be scaled almost to the very top. GTA V is “landlocked” just like RDR.

The Italian Mafia will not be making an appearance this time around.

Ammunition will be making a return, however it is inaccessible; The use of underground arms dealers will be used instead. Shooting ranges will now make a reappearance as well, with the minigame being revamped and much more fun.

Bowling will be making a return, which will also be tied into a few missions.

“ENEMA” is a designer clothes label in the game, with the real-life equivalent being MANGO.

Seasons change in-game, with the main story taking place over the course of more than a year.

Safehouses will not be customizable, however they can be customized to spawn with different cars, helicopters, boats, and planes.

Weapons will be customizable.

Car customization will be making a return.

Character clothing can be changed, but the overall appearance of the character can not be changed. There will be more than three clothing stores to choose from, however it is not a major component of the storyline and therefore optional.

The ability to drive from a desert to an area with heavy snowfall will now be possible.

Mt. Slippery is one of the highest peaks in the game. Mt. Chiliad will not be making a return.

One of the weapons is a remote-controlled explosive miniature truck called the “RC Tour”.

There will be countrysides, deserts, and mountain peaks. San Fierro and Las Venturas will not be making a return.

The northern side of the map is bordered by the Tetas Grandes Mountain Range (the real-life equivalent being the Los Padres National Forest).

Children of the protagonist will be present in V, however they cannot be killed. It is unknown if they will be making appearances outside of cutscenes.

The protagonist has two children, boy Daniel and girl Skyler. They are about 10 years old and are too young to understand the protagonist’s criminal history.

The protagonist is divorced, with the wife having full custody over the children.

An achievement called “Desert Bus” will be featured.

The hidden packages will be 100 crazy Sasquatches that will be placed around San Andreas. They will be recognizable by their faint red glow and constant cooing.

Attempting to boat around the mountains will result in a never ending row of mountains.

The eastern border of the map is the Yucca Desert, which stretches on into infinity. A single road runs through it, however traveling too far out will result in a message implying there’s nothing out there.

The west and south parts of the map is the Pacific ocean.

The southeast part of the map is the Mexican-American border, however it is only referred to as “The Border”. Crossing over the boarder will result in 5 stars, unless the player turns around immediately. Beyond the border is endless desert.

Dogs will be in the game, but only with their humans.

The story focuses on Mexican drug cartels, mainly between two warring cartels, X1 and the Cholula Cartel and their “army”, Los Illuminados.

African-American gangs will return as the “Families Alliance” or even just “The Alliance”. Their color is Black and Green. Their rivals are the Mafioso Alliance, who wear Blue. A third, smaller African-American gang called “The Tracers” will play the most important role in the story.

A Korean mob, Yakuza, and references to the Irish mob will be present, along with the Triads and Russian mob.

The protagonist’s name is Ray, age 53, father of 2 children, divorcee, and an ex-con from upstate Liberty. Ray moved to Los Santos recently and was served with a divorce weeks later. Due to his criminal background, this prevented him from having custody of his children, thus giving full custody to his ex-wife instead.

Feel Free to weigh in with your own thoughts, folks! Do these rumors sound true to you?
