My first Street Fighter memory was with my older brother in our local video rental shop.  Fun times!

Classic Goodness!!

One of the first things I liked about Revenge of the Titans is the clean, retro arcade art style.  It’s simple, its stylish and I love it.  I even like how the achievements look!

Harder than Adamantium

Another thing you’ll notice pretty quickly is that RotT is a pretty hard game.  These evil Titan aliens come at you very quickly, and are not forgiving.  This isn’t your typical tower defense game where the enemies funnel into a nice death trap…. Noooo, Titans run around defenses and come at you from all angles.  You have to get creative with walls and defenses to get far in the game.

I told you to research “PEW PEW” not get some COFFEE!

Some advice for those who are new to the game.  Look up a tech tree online before you start playing.   If you end up researching the wrong tech, the game does very little to help you fix your mistakes.   I decided to research battle droids and tanks, and although they are very strong in numbers, they fail to cover all areas for defense.  After playing the game for a while I highlight recommend, “Lasers, Assault Turrets and Cooler attachments”.  If you are seasoned pro I’m curious to know what your build you used.  Did you use rockets?  A sea of shockers?

As engrossing as Skyrim is, many of my fellow gamers have encountered bugs. Big deal, right? Bethesda’s games ALWAYS have bugs. They’re like little Easter Eggs of masochism.

Thankfully, however, Bethesda is patching up the game to fix some of the more annoying, game breaking and uglifying ones. Skyrim Patch 1.2 details were recently released on the Bethesda Blog:

UPDATE 1.2 NOTES (all platforms unless specified)

• Improved occasional performance issues resulting from long term play (PlayStation 3)
• Fixed issue where textures would not properly upgrade when installed to drive (Xbox 360)
• Fixed crash on startup when audio is set to sample rate other than 44100Hz (PC)
• Fixed issue where projectiles did not properly fade away
• Fixed occasional issue where a guest would arrive to the player’s wedding dead
• Dragon corpses now clean up properly
• Fixed rare issue where dragons would not attack
• Fixed rare NPC sleeping animation bug
• Fixed rare issue with dead corpses being cleared up prematurely
• Skeleton Key will now work properly if player has no lockpicks in their inventory
• Fixed rare issue with renaming enchanted weapons and armor
• Fixed rare issue with dragons not properly giving souls after death
• ESC button can now be used to exit menus (PC)
• Fixed occasional mouse sensitivity issues (PC)
• General functionality fixes related to remapping buttons and controls (PC)

Bethesda also mentioned that it would continue listening to gamers on forums, blogs, and other venues to improve the game’s performance.

So let your voice be heard if you notice a mammoth falling from the sky! (And no, it wasn’t the imaginary result of a 17 hour play session . . . )
