“BlizzCon” is an annual convention held by Blizzard Entertainment to celebrate their major franchises: Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo. The 2010 convention, featuring a live performance by Tenacious D, was held on October 22–23, and the 2011 convention, which will feature a performance by the Foo Fighters, has been announced for October 21–22.

Tier 13 Armor Sets – Model Preview

Which ones do you ladies like?

I figured I would do a little GEAR planning before I got started.  Loot is such a vital part of the game and this time around I decided that I would go with a “magic find” gear focus.  Please keep in mind that this list will probably change once the game has been released and finalized.

Here is my Magic Find Load out as of today:

Head

Quit your day job??

A lot of people thing this will be an easy way to make a lot of money $.  Probably not.  Unlike World of Warcraft Diablo 3’s loot tables are completely random and thus harder to predict.  Will you make a few bucks on the side while playing the game?  Probably.  Will you quit your day job?  Probably not.  With a large fan base poised to strike it rich of this new system, the market will obviously be flooded with items, thus bringing prices down.  The possibly of making money from this system exists but I do not foresee anyone becoming millionaires overnight.

A nice armor piece for $4?  is it worth it?

Same ppl claim that the Auction house has broken D3… We disagree.

“If you play legit, and other players buy items, you’re at a disadvantage. All you’ll have to show for your hard work is lagging behind everyone.
So if you’re preordained to lose, why play?”

You play because it’s fun.  Also, this “Service” was already being provided by illegal 3^rd party sites for the past 5 years anyway.  The “hardcore” mode doesn’t allow the use of an auction house for the purists out there.

Great Idea, Future of the Industry

The D3 auction house is a great idea for several reasons.  The most important reason is that it helps “Gameplay”.  Instead of grinding hours upon hours for an item you can now buy the  set item you are looking for without wasting your own time.  The auction house also helps build a community of buyers and sellers which will help the community grow as a whole.  Players will also now have a rare opportunity to make a few bucks while playing a great game.  For Blizzard this is also a great move, the game is further monetized which helps secure future expansions and better games in the future.  Micro transactions are the way of the future and its great to see that Blizzard is taking advantage of this.

The Beta was cracked and I remember how overpowered fiends and mass ghouls were with double auras. As a committed player I had told myself I would never use another race until I mastered the Undead, my favorite race. Little did I know that my stubborn neuroticism would lead me to playing UD for years to follow. That’s what happens when you’re an obsessive compulsive.  While I don’t remember too much of my experiences with Reign of Chaos, I do recall one specific night playing Frozen Throne. I had been playing for hours on end into the night and I was level 15+ or so in Random Teams (I mainly did 2v2 because I simply thought 3v3 was BS at times). Please take into consideration, and I am not sure if anyone remembers, but early on it was very difficult to gain level experience in Frozen Throne. It was not until after a few patches that it became normal to be higher than level 20. Anyway, back to that night, it was pretty late and I was lucky enough to get one ally that was just 1337. Long story short, we ended up becoming friends and went on 20-0 2v2 streaks as Orc UD. For a while all we did was do a mid tier attack, he would go grunts, FS and if I can recall, a few catapults and I would obviously get DK Lich fiends (the cookie cut army for UD). If that attack did not destroy our opponents, it would cripple them to the point where our next attack would mop the floor.  After I would tech to Dests asap while my ally continued to mass, expand and get wind riders on some occasions. We continued to own newbs and were able to retain top 20 AT ranking on Azeroth. Our highest was rank 12 I believe, which ain’t too shabby. The killjoy became NE ORC… post a few patches that 2′s team became just became Overpowered. Hunts Grunts DH BM, that mix owned…

When it comes to StarCraft 2, I am a complete fanboy.   I must’ve watched the first battle report about 5 times, carefully watching each move and analyzing every tactics made by both players.  Earlier this week Blizzard released the 2nd installment of their “Battle Report” series.

This is our first real look at the Zerg in multiplayer.  The commentary by Dustin Browder, Lead Designer, is very exciting and its defintely worth watching if you are a fan!

That’s pretty much what I was thinking when I heard D3 was coming out. . .  Looks like I’ll be missing work that week.
