We realize that most gamers aren’t rich and by promoting the R4DS we are only trying to help out our fellow gamers. I recently read 2 articles claiming that the R4 Cart is now illegal in Japan.

This is not good news for DS gamers. Its still possible to get an R4DS in the states (a co-worker of mine bought 1 just last month). Get one now before it’s too late!

With the economy down and video games prices at a $60 a pop I figured I would write a quick guide to get cheap video games. The guide mostly consists of internet sites that I currently use.

1.) Gamefly

What is GameFly?

GameFly is the leading online video game rental service. Lets say you buy 5 games in 1 year that’s roughly $325 (tax included).

With Gamefly, a FULL year of unlimited games costs $276. Depending on how many games you purchase this may be the right choice for you.

What is CheapAssGamer?

CheapassGamer is one of the most frequently updated video game deal site on the web. The site provides you with the daily deals, blogs, forums and podcasts. It’s a comprehensive site with amazing deals. You’re bound to save a lot of money if you visit the site often.

3.) Swoopo.com

What is Swoopo?

Swoopo is a relatively new internet auction site its gaining a lot of momentum.

The site sells sell brand new top-name products at incredibly low prices in auctions that start at just 15c with no reserve. The catch is the site charges PER BID. Each bid costs $.75, meaning if you don’t win an item you can potential lose money by just bidding.

I’ve heard good things about the site so far and its definitely worth checking out. The prices are so ridiculously cheap it really makes you wonder, how legit it is.

4.) EBAY

What is ebay?

I kinda don’t feel like answer this, because if you don’t know already…

Despite all the heat EBAY has received over the years. If you are diligent enough you will find a decent deal on EBAY. Hopefully you wont get burned by some douche bag who doesn’t ship your item.

5.) R4DS

I’ve actually wrote about this before. Long story short the R4DS allows you to play any DS game by simply downloading it to a loader chip.

A co-worker of mine keeps complaining that her kid’s games are “too damn expensive”.

I agree.

Rock Band costs $160, Guitar Hero 3 costs $90 and any average game for a console costs $60. Games really are too damn expensive. Her son plays Nintendo DS, so I figure I teach her a way that she can save a LOT of money on DS games. Before we begin let me state that I’m not an advocator of pirated goods. Please purchase your games!!

For NINTENDO DS games the clear solution is the R4 Chip.

This chip is hands down the BEST NDS investment you can make.

You can download virtually any Nintendo DS game into the chip and then run it on your Nintendo DS. The chip contains a small slot for a SD memory card (which holds the games). The R4DS cartridge and 1 GB Sandisk will cost you about $80 but you will instantly make your money back after you download 2 or 3 games.

There are a lot of sites where you can download EVERY single DS game every made.
